Long-distance move from Clarkston, WA to Yuma, AZ

VERY disappointed

We originally picked Interstate Moving and Relocation. I talked to Sebastian at length and shared my concerns about the companies and reviews etc. Sebastian assured me that they were the real deal. Sebastian told me if there were any concerns or problems to call him. I gave him exact measurements of the Harley, 14 totes, a box with a headboard, a small file cabinet, golf clubs, a couch and recliner. I was quoted $3,300.00. The movers showed up in the dark and said there was no way they could do it for that price and said they needed $1,000.00 more. They picked up the items on the october 15th and we had to rent a uhaul trailer to take the harley ourselves. We told them we would arrive by october 21st. We prepared ourselves for a two week supply of clothing etc. The items were delivered on November 21st but the golf clubs were missing and that was the one thing my husband was looking forward to since we came from a very cold area. I called Sebastian, no return call, I called westar and was told to fill out a claim with Anthem. It took me over an hour to fill out the form and after weeks of waiting we received a $10.00 check. Are you kidding me? Westar was supposed to be the company but instead was subcontracted to another company. One of the workers couldn't even speak English and we are from Clarkston, wa. After many phone calls, emails, etc. I wrote a review on the website and the next day I got an email that offered $500.00 for our troubles. I called the number and the man that answered didn't know a thing about it and gave an email for me to talk to someone. They had deleted my review. Of course we never got the $500.00 after many, many emails. I went out on every site to give my review, which was very negative. By this time we had given up as I'd done everything from multiple phone calls to emails, and filed the claim with anthem. All of a sudden...... the golf clubs show up on our doorstep, no UPS, no FEDEX, no ANYTHING to identify who dropped it off and this was in February which was 4 MONTHS after we arrived here. Our only guess is one of the workers stole them, got reprimanded and dropped them off personally. Now you tell us what can be compensated? The copy we were given of the items the man wrote down was not legible. I spent many hours on all the emails, phone calls, filling out the Anthem claim all to get $10.00. This is complete B.S. Our request is you give us the $3,300.00 back as this was so unfair, unjust, lied to, no follow up, no one person took responsibility for anything, EVER. I will never use this company and it has tainted me that I won't use ANY moving company, We will rent a u-haul if necessary.

Long-distance move from Apple Valley, CA to Las Cruces, NM

Move from Apple Valley, CA to Las Cruces, NM.

File C 5280662. Pick up date was December 15, 2018. Drop off date Jan 7, 2019. Estimate quoted given $4243.29. A different carrier called "Rhino" showed up at my gate with a quote of $13,000 discounted to $12,000. I was totally caught off guard. I was unable to contact Cameron from IMRG the morning of December 15, 2018. Rhino ONLY wanted cash. I had to borrow money to pay $6000 upfront as my home in California was already sold and I had to get out. My things were delivered in Las Cruces on correct date, with broken and damaged items and 4 boxes missing to date. Those 4 boxes have some of the most valuable things that I possessed, amounting to over $4000 and I still have 4 boxes in my position that does not belong to me. Rhino was contacted and also the name of the person whom these things belong to. I have emailed, telephoned Rhino and no one can give me an answer as to when and how I will get my personal belongings. All Leonora and or Mary, their rep. can tell me is that it could take up to a year to resolve. Where are my things? why was I charged approximately $7,760 more than quoted. I was told to make a claim on line with CSI. I did just that. Still no word from these 2 companies about my belongings.
These 2 companies IMRG and RHINO Relocation has failed me as a consumer and please, please prospective movers do not get trapped with these two unreliable companies. They are Bait and switch companies until they can prove themselves otherwise. My worst moving experience. Caren Samuels, RN.

Official company response

IMRG assigned this move to Rhino Relocation . The estimated weight on this job was based on the customer's inventory that she provided to IMRG, In which was estimated at 851 Cf. IMRG's contract clearly states that if there are any price changes and or overages to please notify IMRG before signing or agreeing to the carrier's new prices.. Ms Samuels did not contact IMRG before signing the new contract and was now binded by their contract. I was informed later that day of the move that the customer signed a new contract with Rhino Moving for a new price and Cf of 3,300 Cf. All claims are through Rhino Moving. I have assisted the customer in filing the claim and will be more than happy to continue to assist her in this process.

Long-distance move from Bel Air, MD to Philadelphia, MS

Excellent Service.

I was very impressed with the professionalism and efficiency of this moving company. They showed up right on time, fully prepared with all the necessary equipment, including moving blankets, dollies, and even extra boxes in case I needed them. The entire team worked quickly but carefully, ensuring that all my belongings were securely packed and loaded. What stood out to me was how polite and accommodating they were throughout the move. I had a last-minute request to add a few more items, and they handled it without any complaints. A truly excellent experience!

Avoid at all costs!!!

Textbook bait and switch company- they do this a lot!! Look at the other reviews! They sell you on an affordable, easy move then they hand you off to the shadiest moving company I’ve ever seen. They hold your move hostage until you pay more money. Interstate seemed to take a thorough inventory- I even had to measure my furniture and count the prepacked boxes. But then the actual movers get there and it’s suddenly thousands of dollars more than originally quoted. You have no choice but to pay. Then they don’t deliver my stuff until THREE WEEKS after my move in date. Do you know how long that is when you have NOTHING to live off of??? An absolute nightmare! I would never wish this experience on anyone else and I have already told several people to avoid Interstate at all costs. Arena Vanlines needs to be removed as one of your moving partners - absolutely the worst moving experience I’ve ever had! And I’ve moved 13 times!!

Long-distance move from Clarkston, WA to Yuma, AZ

VERY disappointed

I started the process of looking for a good moving company and read many of the reviews and was frightened by the bad reviews and what people had gone through, damaged goods, missing items to file claims. It took an astronomical amount of time for things to get resolved. I finally decided on Interstate moving and relocation group. Gave specific dimensions and number of totes etc. I was given a quote of $3,300.00 for a move from Clarkston, WA to Yuma AZ. The movers were to pick up our items Oct. 15th. The broker was supposed to be Windstar but instead another group and one could not even speak English. They looked at the items and said there was no way they could do it for that price and wanted to add $1,000.00 more dollars to the bid. Again, I gave Sebastian specific dimensions of our Harley. On the last day we had to rent a u-haul for the Harley and take it down ourselves. We were going to be there on Oct. 21st. Our items did not arrive until Nov. 21st and I had called Sebastian and left several phone messages with no return call. Guess what my husband's golf bags and expensive clubs were missing and that is the one thing he looked so forward to doing. I had to file a claim with Anthem insurance and it took me an hour to fill this out and turn it in. After several phone calls and not hearing any updated information I finally was told it would take an additional 5-6 weeks to even review our claim, let alone process a check for the lost items. I shared all my fears to Sebastian and he assured me this company was the real deal. I wrote a BAD review on December 13th... December 14th I received an email offering to claim $500.00 for our problems. I gave a number and the person didn't know anything about this offer and gave me an e-mail. I emailed this attachment of the offer..... no response, several emails again and finally got a response back and was promised that someone would return the call. Again, nothing. We are still waiting..... We are beyond frustration to the point of anger. We will never trust a moving company again and wish we would have gone with our gut feeling and rented our own U-Haul and take it down ourselves.

A Broker, not a mover. They don't read reviews for who they hire.

A Broker, not a moving company, I was mislead.

After our truck was loaded by Unique Vanlines on 8/27/18, they informed us we had more than estimated. We had to pay them additional right then otherwise they'd remove our stuff from the truck right into a the alley way (which is where the truck was being loaded). We feel this was under duress.

9/5/18 the company contacted me, saying our stuff would be loaded on a truck today but we had to pay $1000.00. I told them this wasn't correct. He said in order for it to go out on the truck I need photographic evidence of a money order. Again I told them it was incorrect. I contacted Interstate Moving Company to help get things sorted, they hired them for us. We didn't pay the additional grand on the 5th, our stuff was not loaded on their available truck.

~9/12/18 unique vanlines got in touch with me stating that the additional grand was a clerical error. That our stuff would be on the way.

If it weren't for their clerical error our stuff would have been on the way 9/5/18.

We received 3/5ths of our belongings on 9/17/18. The fella they gave the job to was only given a partial amount of our things to deliver. When we pointed out that we wouldn't send table legs and not a table top, etc and I had the paper work with the box numbers did he agree that the full amount wasn't delivered and made note of that on my forms. It was in my right not to give them the full amount due as the full amount was not there so I withheld a portion.
We paid for a full service move yet they sent one person to do this and he arrived around 11:00 p.m.

It took Interstate moving company and us continuously contacting them to finally receive the remainder of our belongings. Unique Vanlines said they sent us over half of our belongings within the 30 days that it doesn't count against them. Essentially they gave us the rest of our stuff as a courtesy. They knocked $200.00 off delivery.

The remainder (almost) came at 11:30pm 10/21/18. 2 missing boxes they cannot locate, a missing picture box containing our own art work, and wedding photos, etc. They said they were unable to recover these items.

All 5 shelves damaged, both desks gouged, end table trash-worthy, table top and entertainment center scratched up (the blankets that were once very secure on pick up were essentially falling off and some of the labels were attached to the items instead of the blanket). CD shelf punctured, and heavy duty boxes smashed due to improper stacking practices or lack of care.

This ordeal caused an extreme amount of stress to myself, my husband, and my family. They put us under duress, held our items ransom for a grand and only when that would not work they sent 3/5 of our items, a calculated amount, so they wouldn't get reprimanded for exceeding 30 days which by all accounts they did because our items should have gone out on the 5th if it were for their shiesty antics.

My husband had enough and ended up filming about it on his youtube channel.
They've put us through enough that people should know about it so they don't end up in the same situation.

Buyers Beware !! Nightmare of Movers!

My items were picked up at 1030pm on the night of July 5th as opposed to at 1030 am (which was the original designated time). The pickup driver did not leave my house until 2am. This alone was disgraceful - as I had to leave the very next morning on a 6.5 hr drive to Frisco, Tx from Baton Rouge, La to pick up my wife in child from the Dallas Airport at 430 pm. My items were placed in the truck without any regard or care. I advised the carrier multiple times to be careful, my words were completely ignored as he, and his team (random workers)continued to put apart my items with my personal tools (myown personal drill and screwdriver which they did not ask if they could use)and left screws and other items left on the floor. These items were never picked up (picked up what I found but was not all) , and later would not show up at my delivery. I visibly saw my washer and dryer get damaged as it was being carried into the truck. I took immediate pictures of this (see pic attached) and you can see a giant dent on the side of the washer). After delivery, the washer and dryer would show up with the entire front panel missing buttons.During the wait time beginning on the 5th of July to August 2nd, I had called the IMC (moving company) several times every week to try and get updates on when the delivery was going to be. I was always told there was no delivery date. On Thursday August 1st, Me and my family drove down to Baton Rouge, La for my wife's college graduation on Friday August 2nd. That night, at around 1030pm (I have all call records and voice recordings), the delivery driver called to tell me he was going to be at my apartment in Frisco, Tx at 1030 am on Friday, the very next day. This to me was completely absurd, as I was still driving at 1030 pm to Baton Rouge and had a solid 3.5 hours left to drive (I was more than half-way there). I tried to tell the driver my situation but he did not care at all, even going as far as telling me that he would put my stuff in a storage unit somewhere and make me deal with the IMC company myself and that it was not his problem if I got charged the 600$ fee to reschedule a delivery. This made me and my wife absolutely furious. We then made the decision that I would fly back to Texas from Louisiana after dropping my family off in Baton Rouge.I caught the very next flight back to Dallas Friday morning around 9 am, but the only flight I was able to get arrived at 1145 at Dallas.I was able to warn the delivery driver and the IMC company to give me more time to make it home. (again, all calls were recorded for my safety). The flight was 387$ and the taxi from the airport to my apartment in Frisco was an extra 60$. I had to stop at a bank to get the cash out for the delivery driver, as he warned me he would not unload anything until I paid him the 550$ in cash upfront. I frantically began reading the contract, it explicitly says that the delivery company was supposed to contact you with at least 24 hrs in advanced before they can delivery the items to you. This did not happen,I was given 12 hrs by the delivery driver; as this was the only call I ever received from the IMC company (call records from T-mobile will prove this). As if not enough, the delivery was also a mess. While the delivery drivers began unloading items into my apartment, I started noticing broken items right from the start. Both my tv stands were scratched and broken, the baby crib was scratched everywhere, the master bed was torn and missing a leg, the baby wardrobe is for the most part destroyed (the upper part was used as a table to put stuff on top of, this is the part that you put the baby in and now its NOT SAFE TO USE). My washer and dryer are WRECKED (dents, missing pieces in the front). Not only are they missing pieces (hose for the water and airvents), but the have missing buttons. See pictures attached to see missing panel buttons. My child's eating chair was also broken during the move. It was an absolute disaster.

Long-distance move from Secaucus, NJ to Nashville, TN

Run From This Company - Fast - They Are The Worst in The Industry.

1. My quote doubled from $2500 to nearly $5000, even tho I did TWO over the phone inventory sessions. This was for a 1 bedroom apartment with a treadmill from New Jersey, 5 miles outside of NYC to Nashville, TN. From [NAME EDIT] in Sales to [NAME EDIT] who did the 2nd estimate.

2. When they showed up, the "foreman" who did absolutely no lifting, spent the entire time doing paperwork, while asking me to feed him because he was hungry, sneaked in an additional $200 for the treadmill, stating it was a "bulky item."

3. One of the laborers, an Arab Muslim man who spoke very little English starting hitting on me when he'd get me alone. Then got a hold of my cell number and started texting me to come over and things like, "you are very beautiful, attractive and exciting. Morning roses and jasmine, my sweetest rose, if you need any help, I am there."

4. They tried to charge me for things that [NAME EDIT] said I wouldn't be charged for. Including $45 for ONE wardrobe box. $80 for ONE large picture box. [NAME EDIT] said certain things did NOT need to be boxed, like the vacuum cleaner. SHE LIED.

5. The "foreman" said no loose items, then when I went to the bank, I returned to 2 movers putting loose items on the truck, they said they were going to box up.

6. They confirmed delivery for Tues, June 16th. Called on the 14th, asked me to accept delivery on the 15th. On the 15th, they called and said the truck was broke down and would not come until Wednesday the 17th. On the 17th, they didn't show up. I called and called AND CALLED and dealt with 2 different women, both extremely rude, sarcastic, and just basically lying, condescending [EDIT], who kept me on hold forever while they claimed they were "looking into it." Today is Friday the 19th, STILL NO TRUCK. STILL NO UPDATE ON WHERE THE TRUCK IS AND WHEN MY STUFF WILL BE DELIVERED. This company should be put out of business for their corrupt business practices, lack of ethics, deceitful ways of overcharging customers. They are all a disgrace to the human race in my estimation. I see posts in this review section like from [NAME EDIT] who claims he moved a 4 bed home for $1200 from Florida to Texas. I call bullshit. There's no way these are real reviews. Mine, however, is so real it's the worst nightmare experience I've ever had moving and I've moved A LOT.

Long Distance Move.

I hired IMRG on my move from TX to UT. They were quick to keep calling mew and once I decided to hire them They showed up on time. But that's where the problems started. they wanted me to sign blank forms. The movers started to up charge for things that IMRG had stated was included with service they charge me to wrap my table, washer & dryer, stairs and art frames. The weight sales rep estimated for me which he said was over estimating was 1000lbs short. so $800+ added to my original quote. I called to schedule delivery from there communication got worse, I kept getting pick up dates and time after time they were all missed. The customer service manager was extremely rude she called me a lair and hung up on me. If your are dealing with the same situation as I did record your conversations because apparently they don't notate or record their calls so what they tell you means nothing. 35 days late from my delivery date I ended up having to rent a 26ft truck, drive 35 minutes from my house to go pick up me belongings. I had paid for mover to assemble my furniture so that was not done even though they broke their own contract IMRG did nothing to compensate me and blamed they movers they hired for being late. Do yourself a favor and move your things or spend the extra money and hire a dependable moving company.

Long-distance move from San Francisco, CA to West Shokan, NY

THIS COMPANY RUINED MY LIFE

Please do not underestimate the damage this “moving company” will do. I hired what I thought was a moving company called Interstate Moving and Relocation who had good reviews for my move from California to New York. They turned out to be a brokerage company that hands the move off to another company. None of this was explained to me at all. The day of the move I got a call saying their truck broke down and they couldn’t tell me when they would arrive to pick up my belongings. I get a call the next afternoon saying the moving truck would be at my apartment in an hour. The movers arrived in a rented Penske truck and the three young guys doing the moving were extremely unprofessional from the moment they walked in. Not wearing masks, complaining about everything they had to do and not being careful with my stuff at all. Once everything was out of my place they walked me outside and showed me all of my belongings sitting on the loading dock at the back of the truck. I was then told that all of their estimates are based on “Ikea sized furniture” and that mine was bigger and would cost more than I was quoted. I started crying and told them that I feel like the entire things is a scam and asked them to remove my stuff and bring it back in my apartment. They told me I would be charged for moving it back and the main guy told me he would call his boss and get an exact price of how much more it would be. He told me it would be under $500 extra. I was so drained and on such a time crunch at this point that I let them take my entire life away on that truck despite having a gut feeling. I learned later reading reviews that this company Konami Moving and Storage runs this same scam about the “broken down truck” so that people are so stressed with their move being off schedule that they are willing to over look what bullshit everything about the move is. I flew to New York and didn’t hear a word about my stuff. I tried to contact both Interstate Moving and Relocation and the company they hired Konami Moving and Storage numerous times over months and could never get a straight answer from anyone. I was finally told that they legally had 30 business days before I could do anything or get any money back. 30 business days came and they still couldn’t tell me when I would receive my stuff but they did tell me that all of my belongings had been brought to their warehouse in Las Vegas. I hired a Las Vegas based storage company to go to Konami and pick up my stuff. When they did they were only given about half of my stuff. I flew to Las Vegas to try to go to Konami’s warehouse myself. I did and it was CLEARLY a complete and total SCAM. The office was a filthy smoke filled corner of a warehouse that was filled with peoples belongings thrown in piles. There were beer bottles laying around on top of peoples belongings and TONS of furniture and cardboard boxes outside in the rain. They would not tell me where the rest of my stuff is. They said they were “moving warehouses” and my things were just misplaced but they would get them to me (this was 5 months ago!). I went back to the storage facility where the stuff I was able to recover was being kept and I started to open my boxes. THEY HAD BEEN OPENED, STOLLEN FROM AND TAPED BACK UP WITH OTHER PEOPLE’S BELONGINGS IN THEM. I mean I have strangers personal family photos, letters, clothing and the list goes on. They took out anything in my boxes that they could resell. For example my gold case full of professional barbering equipment. Every single piece of furniture I got back is destroyed. They clearly had no intention of ever delivering this stuff which is why they toss it around and are not careful AT ALL. Metal legs of a dresser bent in half, huge gashes in metal cabinets. In the 5 months since this has happened I have written reviews on The Better Business Bureau an only Interstate Moving and Relocation responded because they obviously care about keeping their reviews good so they can keep the scam going. Konami doesn’t care about reviews because they rely on these brokerage companies to give them business. The customer doesn’t have a chance to research the name Konami because they don’t know that they’re even using them until they sign the contract on the day of the move. So a woman who works for Interstate called me to try to resolve the issue so I would take down the reviews. She said Konami was offering me $2,000 which is more than I would get through the insurance claim. The insurance company CSI that works with Konami is also part of the scam. You get 60 cents a pound for anything you can prove you did not get back which is NOTHING. They can take everything you have every owned and give you back under $2,000. I did not accept since they stole over $30,000 worth of belongings and I paid another $7,000 to fly to Las Vegas and rent a box truck to drive what I was able to recover back to New York.

Long-distance move from Los Angeles, CA to Dallas, TX

HORRIBLE

I contacted IMRG (International Moving Relocation Group) to provide moving services for my move from Los Angeles CA to Dallas TX. I was provided a quote of $2600. I was instructed to pay $1300 upon pick up and $1300 upon delivery “cash only”. I paid the initial $1300 when the movers arrived. IMRG informed me I would receive a weight slip from the DOT stating how much the truck weighed prior to loading my things. The movers loaded everything up and I asked where is the DOT weight slip, he said I’ll get it to you later. Once my things were loaded I still hadn’t received the weight slip. I had to call and email the company IMRG over the coarse of 2 weeks to obtain the weight slip. I finally got it and not surprisingly the weight slip was dated and time stamped for the same time the movers were at my house loading items. How were they at a DOT weigh station and at my house at the same time?? Not possible right. So now I know the DOT weight slip was fraudulent. Moving forward, after 3 1/2 weeks of waiting for my things to arrive to my new home, I finally got a call from a driver at 10:00p on a Saturday night telling me he’s in Texas with my belongings. I said it’s 10:00p, he said ok I’ll wait until tomorrow, but if you don’t pay to get your things I’ll take them to a storage and you’ll have also have storage fees. I set up a Monday afternoon delivery. The mover arrived and asked for the balance of $1300 + $700!!! I said my estimate was $2600 total! He said I don’t know I’m just the delivery driver. I called IMRG and they said they’d look into the matter. I have still not received a response or an answer as to why my estimate changed, nor why my weight slip was fraudulent. I advise anyone reading this. DO NOT use this company!!! Most interstate moving companies are in on this scam, they all work together. And if busted they move on and change their company name to continue the CON.

RUN AWAY

RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN! I bet you’re here because the sales guy gave you an extremely low quote and made it sound like they were the world’s premier moving company. WRONG! DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!! My sales guy was nice and made everything sound amazing, when everything went to hell it was all crickets, no response to calls, emails, nothing. He got the sale and moved on. All of their positive reviews are fake. No company gets that many reviews in such a short amount of time. I just got finished with the nightmare of 49 days without my belongings but I’m still suffering the consequences from it. First, they are a broker, NOT a moving company. So you are going to pay hundreds, or in my case $1,000+, for them to just hire some random moving company for you. And you don’t get any say in who they hire. They will hire the lowest bidder who will charge you thousands more than you were quoted, treat your stuff like garbage and take months to move it. When you call their customer service, they are extremely rude. All of them except Christine, she was amazing and I hope she moves on from this shady company. The rest are all rude, cut you off, don’t listen, take one piece of information that you say and run with it while completely ignoring the rest of your problem. Eventually they answer and then just put you on hold hoping you’ll just get tired of waiting and hang up. No manager is ever available. They offer no solutions and no help, they just say they will put in a “request” which never gets followed up on and no call will ever get returned. You have to be an absolute pain to them to try to get any answers. Do yourself a favor! Research the difference between a broker and a mover. Look up federal laws and government websites with resources on how to spot moving scams and knowing your rights. Don’t make the same mistakes I did! This is a very predatory industry. DO NOT HIRE A BROKER OR INTERSTATE MOVING COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

Not Upfront about Costs and Damaged Furniture

My mom hired this moving company because it had supposedly good reviews and was reasonably priced. My mom was told that her price would not change unless she was over the WEIGHT. Asked by us multiple times and was told yes, based on weight. When the movers came, they measured based by VOLUME and charged her over $700 extra. After over a MONTH since having her things picked up, she finally got her stuff and 2 of her end tables were badly scratched. The customer service team was very rude when discussing the extra charges, and when told about the damages I was given a link to fill out a form- no I’m sorry to hear that or anything. Terrible company- DO NOT USE. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Worst Moving Experience

We went through Interstate Moving & Relocation Group (IMRG), a broker, who scheduled us with an unprofessional, unresponsive, and incompetent moving company. This message does not begin to cover all the inconveniences IMRG and the moving company they assigned us have caused. It has been over 2.5 months, and we still do not have all of our belongings, and no one will give us a clear answer if or when we will ever receive them. We were not provided the name of the moving company until the week of the scheduled move. The moving company called us on Tuesday (8/9/22) and said they would arrive Wednesday (8/10/22) early morning to pack up the house and moving truck. They continued to not show at the time we were informed and rescheduled multiple times; each time they did not show up we called and were given a new arrival time. They eventually arrived at our Omaha house at around 7:00 PM on Thursday (8/11/22). We were supposed to be moved out of the house by the next morning because the buyers had a closing walk through scheduled at the house at 8:00 AM to close at 9:00 AM on Friday (8/12/22), which we had informed this moving company earlier that week. When the moving company arrived that Thursday night, they claimed the itemized list was inaccurate, which IMRG prepared, and requested an additional $13,184.49 or they would not move all of our furniture and belongings (over double the original contract price). We could not get a hold of IMRG during this time. We contacted, through the real estate agents, the buyers who then were asking for $10,000 to be taken off the sale of the house if the closing were to be pushed back or to walk from the contract for the sale of the house. We were backed into a corner. In hopes we could still be moved out in time, we moved forward with the moving company’s additional payment request. They ended leaving that night and not showing up again with moving staff until 11:15 AM the next day (8/12/22) claiming they had to pick up materials. When they did show up on Friday, they still did not have the moving materials and the foreman left for about 2 to 3 hours, returning around 2:00 PM with moving blankets and wrapping materials while the other workers started. By end of business, two trucks were fully packed up. We ended up having to put the house back on the market and sell to new buyers. The moving company arrived at our new home on September 3rd. We were told we had to sign paperwork that all of the furniture and belongings were in the two trucks before they began unloading. We refused to sign the paperwork because the trucks did not look full and wanted to see everything unloaded first before signing the documents. The moving company was reluctant but eventually instructed the movers to unload the trucks. Once the trucks were unloaded, we noticed we are missing well over a third of our furniture and belongings (multiples couches, benches, nightstands, footboards, TVs, a box spring, about 50 medium to large boxes of clothing, kitchenware, bedding, etc.). The moving company acknowledged the mistake and said they forgot a storage container and said they would deliver it to us. Since September 16th, they have stopped answering or returning our calls and texts requesting updates on the delivery. IMRG has said on multiple occasions that would call us back with updates from the moving company and never did. According to the contact, everything was supposed to have been delivered by 9/26/22. Also, the furniture and items received were damaged in transit. We have multiple photos of the poorly packed trucks and damage of our belongings. What is also frustrating is how IMRG has poorly handled this situation and not taken accountability for the moving company or position we are in as a result of their business.

Terrible Service and DO NOT USE

I wish I could give them a zero rating because our experience is terrible and appalling.

1. During my months long engagement, Mark Powers from Interstate never said once that the job is subcontracted to the Atlantic Group USA Long Distance and Out of State Movers until Atlantic showed up and my nightmare started. Atlantic movers left many things unwrapped and damaged multiple pieces of furniture including but not limited to a bed, a bookshelf, two dressers, a large TV console, an almost brand-new refrigerator. They lost a treadmill and a dresser. They threw expensive suites, dresses and coats into boxes without hanging them up like I would expect from a professional mover. Brand name shoes are tossed on top of each other like trash without any protection. The framed and glass of several arts were also broken.

2. Interstate didn't conduct an in-person evaluation to verify the amount of stuff to pack and move, even though I offered. My moving cost jumped from $14,000 to $27,000 between the initial and the final evaluation. After already paying over $5500 down payment, we had no choice but to agree on the new price. Movers from the Atlantic Group USA Long Distance and Out of State took two plus days to pack the house and held our stuff hostage and mandated us to pay 70% of the remainder cost against the 50% Interstate communicated with us all the time. Interstate didn't get back to me until the next day after we already made the cash payment.

3. Atlantic Group movers delivered our stuff a week later than scheduled without the right equipment to offload heavy items. The ramp on the truck was broken. To speed up delivery, they loaded the items onto my driveway. Then they demanded more money to move my stuff from the driveway into the garage when it started to rain, holding my items for ransom.

4. We have spent more than two months working with Interstate and the Atlantic Group via calls and email since July 2023. We have submitted multiple damage reports but have not received any apology from Atlantic Group nor any compensation.

I gave Interstate a 1 star because this company might be a decent one but the Atlantic Group they hired to handle my move sucks!

Good movers!

This company gave me the option to deliver the luggage bag itself. I opted for the bag instead of boxes and received my luggage bag with my stuff inside perfectly fine. Overall experience was great. My bag is also is in perfectly good condition with no wear and tear.
